Marten Vale Rules & Guidelines

Overview

By participating in the Marten Vale ARPG community through Discord, DeviantArt, or any official platform, you agree to follow all rules and guidelines outlined below. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, temporary suspension, removal from events, or permanent removal from the game and community. In serious cases, action may be taken without prior warning.

Removal from Marten Vale may result in the forfeiture of all associated imports, genotypes, items, currency, and other game assets. Permanent bans may also restrict participation in future Marten Vale activities, events, sales, and community spaces.

​

It is each member's responsibility to read and understand these rules. Lack of familiarity with the rules will not be accepted as an excuse for violations.

General Community Rules

Respect and Inclusion

Marten Vale maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment, bullying, discrimination, hate speech, or abusive behavior.

​

Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise discriminatory remarks, including those presented as jokes, are not permitted. Violations may result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent removal from the community.

​

Community Conduct

Members may not engage in behavior intended to create hostility, undermine staff, disrupt the community, or encourage conflict.

​

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Deliberately inciting drama or controversy.

• Encouraging community unrest over game outcomes or staff decisions.

• Making accusations against staff or members without sufficient evidence.

• Coordinating harassment or targeted complaints.

User-Generated Content Disclaimer

Marten Vale provides community spaces where members may share content and interact with one another. While staff actively moderate these spaces, Marten Vale cannot guarantee that all inappropriate content will be immediately identified or removed.

​

Participation in the community is voluntary and undertaken at each member's own discretion.

​

Intellectual Property

All Marten Vale species content, artwork, lore, templates, and related assets remain the property of the creator, LastPluto.

Members may not:

• Claim Marten Vale content as their own.

• Reproduce or redistribute official content outside the Marten Vale community.

• Use Marten Vale assets in unrelated projects without permission.

Staff Concerns

Concerns regarding staff conduct should be directed privately to LastPluto.

​

Members may be asked to provide supporting evidence, such as screenshots or logs. For privacy reasons, staff disciplinary actions will not be publicly disclosed.

​

Cheating

Cheating of any kind is prohibited.

​

Members found cheating may be removed from events, lose rewards, receive disciplinary action, or be permanently banned depending on severity.

Examples of cheating include:

• Using multiple accounts to bypass participation limits.

• Coordinating with others to gain unfair advantages in raffles or events.

• Exploiting loopholes or systems for personal gain.

• Any behavior intended to unfairly advantage one member over others.

Determinations regarding cheating are made at the discretion of the owner and administrative team.

​

Special Treatment

Members may not request, pressure, or expect special treatment from staff.

​

This includes requests for:

• Custom or semi-custom designs.

• Exclusive imports.

• Unreleased content.

• Free items, companions, supplements, or consumables.

• Rare traits.

• Breeding slots for Starters.

• Exceptions to established rules.

​

Indirect requests, repeated hints, or joking attempts to obtain special treatment are also prohibited.

​

Imports, Artwork, and Submissions

​

Design Approval

All designs must be approved by a Marten Vale administrator before participating in game activities.

​

Approval decisions are based on official design guidelines. Staff will provide feedback when revisions are required, and designs may be resubmitted after corrections are made.

​

Copyrighted Content

Designs that closely reference or reproduce copyrighted characters, symbols, logos, or intellectual property will be rejected.

​

This includes material derived from:

• Video games

• Films and television

• Comics and graphic novels

• Existing character designs

• Corporate logos and branding

​

This policy exists to protect both Marten Vale and its members from copyright infringement concerns.

​

Religious and Political Content

Designs may not contain symbols, imagery, or references associated with political movements, political figures, religions, or religious organizations.

While Marten Vale respects diverse beliefs and viewpoints, official game content must remain neutral and welcoming to all participants.

Offensive Symbols

Designs containing offensive, hateful, extremist, or discriminatory symbols will be rejected.

​

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Nazi imagery

• Swastikas

• Confederate symbols

• Hate group insignia

• Similar offensive imagery

​

Submission of such content may result in disciplinary action.

​

Original Artwork

All artwork submitted for activities, rewards, or progression must be created by the submitting member unless otherwise stated.

​

The following are expressly prohibited:

• Tracing

• Plagiarism

• Unauthorized reproductions

• Excessive copying of another artist's work

• Any use of AI programs in any fashion whatsoever

• ​

Violating submissions may be removed and will not qualify for rewards or progression.

​

Commissioned artwork may be submitted if:

• The original artist is properly credited.

• The submission links directly to the artist's original post whenever possible.

​

Content Rating

All Marten Vale content must remain within PG-13 standards.

​

This applies to:

• Character names

• Descriptions

• Stories

• Artwork

• Writing

• Crafts

• Other user-generated content

​

Content that exceeds these standards may be removed or require revision.

​

Co-Ownership

Imported designs may not be co-owned. Each import must have a single owner.

​

Prohibited Content

Marten Vale does not allow sexually explicit content involving its species, imports, NPCs, or official concepts.

​

The following content is prohibited from community submission and will not qualify for activity rewards:

• Sexual or explicit depictions

• Fetish content

• Excessive gore

• Graphic violence

• Depictions of abuse or cruelty beyond PG-13 standards

• ​

Members may privately create or roleplay such content at their own discretion, but it may not be submitted, displayed, or rewarded within the Marten Vale community.

Sales, Advertising, and Trading

 

Advertisement Journals

Advertisement journals may only be submitted once every 72 hours.

​

Repeated removal and resubmission to bypass this limit is not permitted. Journals submitted before the waiting period expires may be rejected without notice.

​

Resale Restrictions

Designs obtained through official Marten Vale raffles, events, giveaways, or activities that did not involve monetary purchase may not be sold for money or equivalent value.

​

This includes:

• Cash sales

• Voucher exchanges

• Non-digital goods

• Other forms of monetary compensation

​

These designs may be:

• Gifted

• Traded for other digital designs

• Traded for slots, hatchlings, or adoptables

• Exchanged for digital or traditional artwork and crafts

​

Breeding Slot Sales

Breeding slots and hatchlings may be bought, sold, or traded at prices determined by their owners. Marten Vale does not regulate pricing. However, sellers may only impose rules regarding:

• Future resale

• Future trades

• Future gifting

• Combined slot packages

No additional restrictions are permitted.

​

Breeding Slot Availability

Breeding slots may not be sold, traded, gifted, or otherwise offered before a Marten Vale character has been officially approved and uploaded and has passed their Breeding Rites. This includes pre-arranged sales, reservations, or exchanges involving goods or services before slot approval.
